ed log: shinji and kippei
Apr. 30th, 2007 03:35 amShinji had come to work with him after all, and Kippei had been relieved and amused and a little dismayed to find that he'd been right, and Shinji was something of a hero, and he'd been patted on the back and offered cookies from someone's lunch and told more embarrassing stories about Kippei than Kippei had known existed, and in general the lot of them had been very entertained. At Kippei's expense, which Kippei didn't actually mind as long as everyone was having fun.
Kippei was pretty sure that Shinji had been okay with it after all, that he'd had fun too, but he hadn't had a chance to talk to him about it before Shinji had to leave for work, so he didn't know. And Shinji was working late, so he wouldn't see him when he went home, either. Shinji wasn't staying at his house all the time anymore, only sometimes, and on nights that he worked he generally went back to his own apartment, and Kippei wasn't going to see him again until... well, who knew.
He worked late so he could avoid thinking about it and how restless it made him feel, rather annoying really how big a part of his life Shinji had become, but he didn't really want it to change. He knew now what Shinji had meant when he said he wanted Kippei there all the time, and he agreed completely. Shinji was his, end of story, and he should always be there.
He was tired when he finally locked up and went home, and he had driven halfway to Shinji's house before he realised that he hadn't gone 'home'. He'd messaged Annie awhile ago to let her know he was working late, and now he hesitated a bit before he finally pulled out his phone and sent her another message to let her know he was going to be at Shinji's. Yeah, because that was just such a wonderful idea to turn up there and be there when Shinji got home.
Except he didn't have keys. He pulled in at the apartment building and stared up at it, wishing his subconscious had more sense. At least he hadn't gone straight to the bar to see Shinji at work. At least he had some dignity left. But he was tired and the idea of driving all the way home was too much effort, so in the end he just stretched out on the front seat of his car and went to sleep until Shinji got home.

Date: 2007-04-30 08:58 am (UTC)He wasn't sure when he developed a Kipper-dar, but he had and as soon as he entered the carpark he knew Kippei was close. He spotted the car easily enough and wandered over, opening the door and climbing in, not bothering to say anything, just curling up on top of Kippei and ignoring the world. He wasn't going to stay there because the sun would come up and that would suck, but for just a few moments he intended to stay put.

Date: 2007-04-30 09:07 am (UTC)Oh wait. Car. Right. He was at Shinji's, waiting for Shinji to get home, but Shinji was obviously home.
"Hi," he muttered finally, his voice sleep rough and gravelly. "When did you get here?"

Date: 2007-04-30 09:17 am (UTC)"How come you're out here in your car? Is there a rat in my apartment? I don't like rats..."

Date: 2007-04-30 09:22 am (UTC)"I don't have a key," he muttered, rubbing his eyes and running his hand over his hair as if it might need straightening up, although it was too short to mess up in the first place. "I forgot."

Date: 2007-04-30 09:29 am (UTC)"....oh." He rummaged around in his pockets for a minute, finding his keys and pulling off a spare, shoving it into Kippei's pocket. "Now you do. Can we go upstairs now?"

Date: 2007-04-30 09:34 am (UTC)"Uh. Thanks," he managed, still a little bemused. He sat up and looked around, remembering they were still in the car and it really wasn't all that comfortable, especially for two people. "Yeah, let's go."

Date: 2007-04-30 09:39 am (UTC)"Did you miss me?" Why else would Kippei show up at his apartment. But he wanted Kippei to say yes.

Date: 2007-04-30 09:44 am (UTC)"I wanted to see you," he muttered as he took Shinji's hand, linking their fingers absentmindedly as he slammed the car door shut, and followed Shinji up to the front door.
Really, that should be admission enough for any man. He was tempted to say something mean, but he didn't want to fight right now because they were both tired and Shinji had only just gotten here and couldn't they just go to bed?

Date: 2007-04-30 09:48 am (UTC)"I missed you too," Shinji smirked, leaning up to kiss his cheek as he tugged him through the door, kicking it shut and already pulling his shirt off, tossing it aside as he wandered into the bathroom. He wanted a quick shower to get the smoke off, hell yes he did.

Date: 2007-04-30 09:54 am (UTC)In spite of which some stupid little squishy part of him liked hearing Shinji say that he had missed him, even if it was ridiculous to think that it was true. He decided not to argue in favor of pulling his own clothes off and dropping them wearily on the floor before he followed Shinji into the shower.

Date: 2007-04-30 09:59 am (UTC)"Mmmm....I wanna sleep in the shower," he grumbled. "How come I can't breathe underwater?"

Date: 2007-04-30 10:04 am (UTC)"You're not a fish," he mumbled, leaning his shoulder against the wall beside Shinji and tugging him forward, just a little, to lean against him. He sighed, and it sounded a little like relief, not that he was paying attention. "Don't fall asleep. The water will get cold."

Date: 2007-04-30 10:12 am (UTC)"Go crash," he told him, reaching for the soap. "I need to wash up, I'll be right there." He moved as quickly as he could, though his hands seemed to keep slowing down of their own accord as his tired mind drifted back toward sleep. But it still didn't take long to get the day's sweat and dirt washed off, and then he shut off the water with a grateful sigh and climbed out, looking for a towel.

Date: 2007-04-30 10:24 am (UTC)"Mmmm," he mumbled, content and warm, finally able to relax and stop trying to stay awake and move and think.

Date: 2007-04-30 10:28 am (UTC)"Did you get much done? Did the guys pick on you again? I don't have to work tomorrow night, want to me come to work with you? I'll make sandwiches!"

Date: 2007-04-30 10:39 am (UTC)"Kippei...I'm a demon! What the hell is going to scare me?" Because really, what the fuck? "I might not like things, but they're not, generally, scary."

Date: 2007-04-30 10:42 am (UTC)"Y're not a...good demon," he reminded Shinji, nuzzling him a little.

Date: 2007-04-30 11:45 am (UTC)"Said I was keeping you," he reminded Shinji, and just the thought of someday Shinji not being there was enough to scare him into keeping Shinji happy, even if it meant telling him girly crap all the time. "So yeah. Mine." And since he was awake and Shinji's ear was temptingly close, he leant forward and licked it and did some nibbling.

Date: 2007-04-30 11:50 am (UTC)"Don't, I'm sleepy! Don't make me wanna have sex, that's mean! I'll have weird dreams."
no subject
Date: 2007-04-30 12:02 pm (UTC)"What kind of weird dreams?" he asked curiously, wondering what the hell was bad about those kind of dreams, the kind he would have if he was all turned on and wanting sex when he went to sleep.

Date: 2007-04-30 12:05 pm (UTC)"Don't you ever have weird dreams?"

Date: 2007-04-30 12:27 pm (UTC)Mine, he thought, but maybe it meant something else altogether.

Date: 2007-04-30 12:32 pm (UTC)"Sweet dreams, beautiful," he murmured, stroking a hand up and down Kippei's spine and drifting, not thinking and just enjoying.
