Kippei didn't bother sleeping; he didn't need that much, so he spent a long time watching Shinji sleep, stroking his hair and making plans. He wanted to get away from here as soon as possible, before Shinji was missed and people started looking for him. Being a rogue vampire the way he was, he didn't have an old ancestral home--he'd probably been kicked out of it, not that he remembered. It had been a long time ago, in any case, and he'd been sleeping for a long time lately. The world was a different place now than it had been the last time he was awake, and he'd been using his psychic powers to pick things out of human thoughts about how things should work and what was expected in this day and age, using whatever he saw fit and disregarding the rest, as usual.

He was planning to take Shinji to Russia, where he had an old house that he had lived in for awhile a few centuries ago. It was probably deserted now, he'd never bothered with caretakers, but he still owned the place and it was a solid stone structure which should still be in good condition. They could fly, which he was still wary of; he'd never heard of machines that could fly, but it was the fastest way to get Shinji very far away from here, so that was what they'd do. It was very early morning now, and Shinji had been worried about dawn, probably for good reason. Kippei assumed that was when he'd be missed if he wasn't home. Time to go, then. He leaned down to kiss Shinji awake, reveling in the fact that he could. Shinji was his.

"Wake up, beautiful, it's time to go," he told Shinji, a soft growl in his ear as he nuzzled at the soft skin there. Shinji was perfect, just damn perfect.

Shinji woke groggily, the world a little fuzzy in his head. That didn't sound like Akutsu, and the bed he was on didn't feel like his bed or Akutsu's. Frowning, Shinji opened his eyes and stared. That didn't look like Akutsu either...who?

Tachibana Kippei. Shinji sat bolt upright in bed and back up into the corner again, wide eyed as he stared at Kippei. Not a dream...his hand went to his neck but he couldn't feel bite marks; already healed but he could feel the grogginess that came from a vampire's feeding. Tears immediately spilled again, along with anger.

"You bastard! I told you not to! You didn't have permission, you didn't have the right! You're not allowed to do that! You ruined everything!" Akutsu would hate him; he wasn't pure anymore. He was tained. Tainted by Tachibana fucking Kippei. "I hate you!"

Kippei shook his head, impatiently. Yeah, he sure as fucking hell ruined it. That was necessary, not that Shinji had figured that out yet. "I have every right," he countered. "You're mine. You belong to me. This is the way it's supposed to be. Nobody allows me to do anything; I don't care about any of their damn rules. They're wrong, anyway. This is the way it is. Now come on, we're leaving." He wasn't bothered by Shinji saying he hated him; even if he did, he'd get over it, or not. Whatever. It amused him a bit, though.

"You shouldn't hate me," he stated, reaching out to wrap his fingers around Shinji's wrist and pull him closer again. "I'm going to give you everything. You're going to have me; you don't need anything else," he said calmly, looking down at Shinji with dark, possessive eyes. "You should stop thinking so much." He put a hand on the back of Shinji's neck and pulled him in for a hard, demanding kiss, thrusting his tongue into the heat of Shinji's mouth and then pulling away again, smirking, before Shinji could think about biting him. Not that he didn't want Shinji to bite him, but he rather wanted to make Shinji wait for it, to let him figure out that he wanted to, and not just because he was mad.

Gah, what was with this nutcase vampire? It was too early for kissing and Shinji hadn't brushed his teeth and he probably tasted like death...oh yeah, wouldn't matter to him. Right. That didn't help! Neither did the fact that Shinji wanted more of those kisses. Tachibana showered him in attention and was always touching him and wanted him and promised things that made Shinji's head spin. It wasn't helping him to say no. And the bastard stopped kissing him by the time Shinji thought to bite his damn tongue off. And they were going someplace? Fuck no. He wanted to go home...but Akutsu would hate him. He didn't want Akutsu to hate him, and he didn't want to not be able to go home. He didn't want to live like this. He cried in frustration and stared at his hands, resolutely wrapping them around his own neck and squeezing, letting the breath out and refusing to open his own strong hold. He had to die and he had to die now. He felt his own long nails digging in and the bruising force cutting into the muscles of his throat and the hoarse desperate need for breath and it all felt good because it was what dying was like. Good, die now.

God, stubborn! Kippei snarled an exclamation of annoyance and reached out to pry Shinji's fingers off his throat, which was a little more difficult than he'd thought, Shinji being stronger than he looked, but Kippei was stronger and he yanked Shinji's hands down and pinned them to the bed, pushing Shinji back and leaning over him again, temper flaring a bit as his eyes flashed with irritation.

"What did I tell you about killing yourself?" he demanded. "No, you will not, you may not, and I will not let you. Stop trying, or I will drug you until we get home." He leaned closer, putting pressure on Shinji with his body and his mind, forcing him into submission. "You're mine, and I will not let you die, by your hand or any other. You're coming with me and you'll do it quietly, and if you try to kill yourself again I'm going back to kill your precious 'master'," he sneered.

Shinji stared wide-eyed, feeling frozen by the threat. Killing himself was one thing, killing himself and Master was quite another. Though, he still wasn't convinced Tachibana Kippei could kill Aku, and even if he could it might be sort of nice to die with Master...But he couldn't bring himself to do anything that would hurt Akutsu and finally flopped into submission, all the strength fading from him as he stopped struggling.

"Home is with Akutsu," he sneered instead. And he made sure he thought of a lifetime of 'going homes' with Master, because he had the sneaking suspicion Tachibana had a hint of that talent.

Kippei rolled his eyes, and dragged Shinji out of bed. "Shut up," he ordered, annoyed by Shinji's thoughts, though it wasn't like he had to listen. He just wanted to, liked the tone of Shinji's mental voice, although the thoughts themselves were frequently making him mad. He hadn't missed the fact that Shinji did, in fact, like him, however, so he was feeling a bit smug about that. Shinji would see soon enough that this was the way it was supposed to be.

"That's not your home anymore, you can't go back," he said matter of factly--not gloating, yet. That was just the way it was. The sooner Shinji accepted that, the better. "Your home is with me now, so get used to it." He kept ahold of Shinji's wrist as he headed for the door, stopping to grab the few things he had stashed here--some money and a shiny new cell phone that he thought was the coolest thing ever.

Not home? It was the only thing Shinji had ever known! The feel of Akutsu's cold arms, like a cage protecting him from the world. The feel of cold, long fingers wrapped around his own, pulling him forward. The scent of death on the pillow at night, the taste of blood in his mouth. These things were Akutsu and Akutsu was home. Akutsu was what kept him alive; what made him alive.

A cold sinking feeling entered Shinji. Kippei said that wasn't home anymore; that this was home.

"Was I...sold?" Without even being told? The hell?

Kippei shot him another amused, if still impatient look. "No, I told you, I don't want a pet," he repeated. He pulled Shinji out the door, locking it behind him although he wasn't planning on ever coming back. It had served it's purpose, and he only had it rented until the end of the month anyway.

"You're mine, and you're not a pet anymore. Pets get sold and they get old and they die, and none of that is ever going to happen to you. I'm not letting you go ever." He started walking again, still holding Shinji's wrist--he'd rather hold his hand, but he was pretty sure Shinji would still try to get away from him if Kippei gave him the chance. A few bruises wouldn't hurt him anyway.

Shinji just stared at him because damn it if Tachibana Kippei wasn't the most out there fucking vampire on the face of the planet; completely insane and completely off the planet.

"You're weird." And he burst out laughing at him, because really it was the only thing he could do. He couldn't fight the bastard, he couldn't argue with him because Kippei seemed to think that what he thought was law. All he could do was laugh at him. He couldn't even die. Whatever. He fished around in his pocket and found his old cd player, taking the headphones and putting one in his ear, then reaching up to put one in Kippei's ear. It was Stravinsky, and Shinji had spent a week now learning to dance to it and practising over and over until he had it perfect, but that didn't mean he didn't need to practise more. It needed to be better than perfect or it wasnt good enough. One day he would show it to Master.

He was weird? Kippei thought that was pretty fucking amusing coming from Shinji, but whatever. He tilted his head toward Shinji's as if to hear the music better, remembering the dance Shinji had been doing when Kippei had found him. He'd only caught a few glimpses of Shinji dancing before this, but something about it had caught and held his attention--it was almost hypnotic, the lithe grace and rhythm of Shinji's slender form, entrancing and somehow erotic, though there was nothing overtly sexual about the dance he'd seen.

"Not as weird as you," he countered absently, keeping an eye out for trouble as they headed for the bus station. The airport wasn't that far away, but it was too far to walk when he had to keep such close tabs on this recalcitrant human. Still, he was in a good mood, having gotten what he came for and looking forward to dealing with Shinji's stubbornness--it was interesting, even when it annoyed the hell out of him.

"I'm not weird!" Shinji frowned, glaring a little at Kippei, but wriggling his fingers, trying to get his own wrapped around Kippei. He didn't feel safe, ever, if he was walking around at night and not holding Master's hand. Even now that he was older, he wanted that security blanket. He had no idea where they were and it was more than a little terrifying.

"Where are we going?"

From: [identity profile] shattermelt.livejournal.com
Kippei let Shinji take his hand, linking the fingers together securely and holding tight, giving him a wary look and eventually deciding that Shinji wasn't actively trying to get away at the moment.

"We're going to the... airport," he answered, having to search for the word. "Going to fly," he added, and he couldn't help the touch of wondering amazement under the words, at the idea that humans had invented something that could fly, and they were going to ride in it. It seemed incredible, but everything he'd discovered in the last few weeks seemed to say that it was commonplace and nothing out of the ordinary, and he shook his head, bemused. A world where the little humans flew in the sky every day; he'd sure missed a lot.

Date: 2006-06-12 02:11 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] ayretala.livejournal.com
Kippei seemed pretty amazed that they were going to fly and he had that weird feeling again that told him Kippei was old. Like...really old. Older than Master. Old like Sanada was old.

"Do you have weird teeth? Sanada has weird teeth and he's old. Just how long were you asleep for anyway? You know you still have dust in your hair? It's kind of funny actually...the dust, not your hair, the hair is nice. I dont get that though; your hair keeps growing after you die, so how come vampire hair doesnt keep growing. That's weird and not normal at all, but I suppose vampires arent really normal to humans or something." For some reason holding Kippei's hand made him feel better and he didn't really want to go away. He just wished Master was with them; that they could all go catch a plane together. He didn't want to be away from Master at all but he didn't really want to be away from Tachibana either. He couldn't explain why.

"Where is the plane going?"

From: [identity profile] shattermelt.livejournal.com
Kippei grinned at him, showing all his teeth--ordinary fangs, nothing that weird about them, unless you were a human who'd never seen a real vampire. "I was asleep," he answered, shrugging unconcernedly. "How should I know how long it was? A long time I guess. I don't remember when it was the last time I was awake." He didn't remember a lot of things, really, but it had never bothered him. He just didn't see the point of remembering things that were over and done with. Not important anymore.

He had a few scattered memories of the last thousand years, things that had stood out as something to be remembered, something that still had some value or importance past the moment, but for the most part he preferred to live in the now, whenever that was at the time. The dust didn't bother him either, although he ran a hand through his hair when Shinji mentioned it. He supposed there was dust in it, since he knew there wasn't any grey, no matter how old he was. He didn't know and didn't care why it didn't grow, so he ignored the question.

"Russia. We're flying home to Russia." Kippei liked Russia. It was a good, cold place, old with lots of history. He'd settled there at some point and couldn't remember when he'd left, or why, but he was glad to be going back.

Shinji froze in shock, completely stopped moving and so was pulled off balance by Kippei's tugging hand, but still couldn't move, barrelling into Kippei and stumbling, free hand snagging in his shirt as he tried to get his balance back, but his head was reeling happily.

"Russia? We're going home to Russia? You live in Russia?" Suddenly Shinji was nowhere near as reluctant to go. He could go back, have fun for a few days and then go home to Master and with any luck Master would be so mad that he would kill him and completely negate the fact Kippei had bitten him. He could die happy, having spent time in Russia again. Perfect!

"Russia is my favourite place, ever!" Shinji explained excitedly. "We lived in this huge manour with a ballroom and we had parties and I got to dance all night and Master was happy and snacked on all the people and he dressed my in cool clothes and bought me lots and lots of old music boxes and that was where I first heard Stravinsky at the opera house!"

Mildly surprised at the outburst, Kippei caught Shinji when he stumbled and listened in amusement, taking the opportunity to pull Shinji against him and hold him close, liking the feeling of Shinji's slender frame pressed against his own, and the way he was hanging on, however unconsciously.

"Yes, Russia," he confirmed, smirking to himself as Shinji went on and on about it. Well, apparently that was one thing in his favor, although Shinji was seriously in denial if he was still thinking Kippei would ever let him leave.

Delighted was an understatement. Shinji was on cloud nine. They were going to Russia! He pulled on Kippei's hand, squirming out of his hold and pulling him along impatiently.

"Come on, we don't want to miss the plane! I can sit next to you right? You have money? Can we fly business class I dont like economy at all! Do you need to feed first? Its a longish flight and you cant eat the people on the plane until we get there...will you be okay?" Why was he worrying about Tachibana Kippei? He wasn't master, he didn't matter...but Shinji wanted him to be okay. Gah, annoying...he was feeling worried for the guy who had kidnapped him and threatened to kill Master. He really was weird.

Kippei let Shinji pull him along, amused and amazed by the apparent turnaround in his behavior. He hadn't known what he would find when he'd started tracking Shinji, only that the bright heat of him in his senses was unbearably attractive, something he recognized and wanted and needed without knowing why, or questioning it. What he'd found was not at all anything he could have guessed, and he'd been stunned to realize Shinji was even more beautiful and sexy in person than he was from a distance.

He hadn't expected, either, that Shinji would fight him so hard, but that was pretty attractive too. Shinji had shown him so many different moods since Kippei had found him, that he was having a little trouble keeping up, but then he wasn't really trying. Just watching him like an everchanging kaleidescope was pretty fascinating, especially when he was currently lit up with the excitement of going to his favorite place.

"I'm fine," he assured Shinji as they boarded the bus, amused that Shinji was worrying about him, but also rather satisfied with the signs of Shinji's growing attachment to him. All to the good. "We're going first class, and your seat is right next to mine." Of course. Like he was going to let Shinji out of his sight, even for a second. And money had never been a problem for him, he had plenty of his own and no qualms about stealing or cheating his way into more, so he didn't see a reason not to buy the most expensive tickets there were. If they were going to fly, better do it right.

First class. You got tvs and nintendo and free food and drink in first class. Shinji grinned and found himself nibbling on Kippei's knuckles without even thinking about it, the way he did sometimes with Master when he was excited about something. Kippei was find, they were going to Russia and he got to sit next to Kippei the whole time. Still, he was fiercely missing Master already. He tried to tell himself it was just like when Master would go away for a long time, a few months for the clan and left Shinji with Tezuka at the main house. Just like that. Only he was staying with Kippei instead of Tezuka, and he liked Kippei already a lot more than Tezuka. Just like that...right.

"Will you play games with me?"

Date: 2006-06-12 03:14 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] shattermelt.livejournal.com
"What kind of games?" Kippei asked him warily, wondering what the hell that meant. Games? Like chess or dice or what? Cards? Somehow he didn't think that was at all what Shinji had in mind. He was, however, fairly distracted by that pleasant flicker of Shinji's teeth on his hand, tantalizing him with ideas of what else Shinji could do with his teeth, especially later. They were already pretty sharp for a human. He repressed a shiver of pleasure, and merely lifted Shinji's fingers up to kiss them as he stood up, pulling Shinji with him. They were finally at the airport, and Kippei was impatient to actually get on a plane, and put as much distance between them and here as possible.

"We'll see," he told Shinji absently, holding his hand firmly as he made for the nearest terminal.

Date: 2006-06-12 03:29 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] ayretala.livejournal.com
Shinji let Kippei pull him along while he made a list of all the games they could play. Hide and seek, tag, monopoly, poker, blackjack, snakes and ladders, chess, go fish, mahjong...any game at all as long as it led to touching and kissing and snuggling. Shinji liked that part of the game the most.

He waited patiently while Kippei arranged flights and then cocked his head thinking about it. He tugged Kippei back to a corner when their tickets were done and leant up to whisper in his ear.

"Passport? Mine's at Aku's..." Unless Kippei forged him one in which case Shinji wanted to know just how long nutcase vampire Tachibana had been stalking him.

Date: 2006-06-12 03:37 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] shattermelt.livejournal.com
Kippei thought that Shinji's ideas of games sounded pretty good to him, although he wasn't entirely sure what the point of bothering with the game itself was when the important part came afterward and why not skip to that? Strange, but whatever. They could do all of that. He thought he'd probably get bored and end up cheating, depending on what they played, but games went faster that way.

He got the tickets with a faint sense of relief, and smirked down at Shinji. "Don't worry, I have everything." He had been planning this for weeks now, and honestly, did Shinji think Kippei was going to take any chances on it not working?

Date: 2006-06-12 03:43 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] ayretala.livejournal.com
Curious, Shinji grabbed the passport Kippei had and flicked through the pages, wide-eyed and stunned.

"This is my passport..my real one! Look it has the visa in it from when we went to Russia! You...you were in our house! In Aku's study!" And Akutsu hadn't noticed a thing, not even the scent! Well, Kippei did kind of smell like Akutsu, maybe that was why...and Shinji had smelt pretty damn bad when he got back, that probably covered up everything for a while. "Damn...you're cool...scary, buy cool." He shoved his passport back in Kippei's pocket and checked the time. Perfect timing; the plane would start boarding in ten minutes.

"I need to go to the bathroom..." He could even flush his head...no, then Kippei would kill master. Well, he still needed to pee.

Date: 2006-06-12 07:22 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] shattermelt.livejournal.com
Kippei just smirked at him. Shinji thought he was cool. Hell yeah. Scary too, that was good. It wouldn't hurt if Shinji was a bit afraid of him. He was a bit skeptical about letting Shinji go to the bathroom, but after a quick, hard look at him he nodded, reluctantly.

"Fine, but don't try anything," he warned, growling just a little. He pulled Shinji against him again, kissing him fast and hard and a little sloppy, then pushed him into the bathroom. He was going to stand right outside and wait. He didn't know why he'd kissed him, exactly--partly as a reminder, partly because Shinji had been hanging all over him and he liked it, partly because he was hungry for Shinji and he wanted to.

It was an odd kind of hunger, and he didn't know if he'd ever felt it before... hunger for a specific person rather than in general, focused and intense and wanting everything, body and soul. But only from Shinji. It was new as far as he could remember, but then again... maybe he just didn't remember.

Date: 2006-06-12 07:32 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] ayretala.livejournal.com
Shinji quickly went into the bathroom and did his business, touching his lips, more than a little dazed. Kippei didn't kiss like Akutsu. Aku kissed as if there was no other alternative; as if kissing him was just like kissing anyone else. Master's kisses were just because Master felt like kissing. But Kippei...Kippei kissed as if he loved it, and as if he wanted Shinji to love it too. There was fire in Kippei's kisses, while Aku's were always ice.

He finished and wandered back out, looking for Kippei, a little stunned when he was still right there by the door waiting for him. The lady announced first class boarding over the speakers and Shinji grabbed Kippei's hand again, feeling weird that he had no bags or anything. He felt his unease growing again, that he was going away from Master, but there wasn't any choice if he didn't want Aku to get hurt. For once, he could do something for Akutsu, even if it was go away.
